"Dramatic sweeps of color flavor each of Mr. Oldak's paintings."
— Doris Meadows, The New York Times
Mr. Oldak studied at the School of Art and Design and later the School of Visual Arts in New York City. While working toward a degree in commercial art and illustration, his career path was interrupted when he was drafted into the army and served in Vietnam. When he returned, his interest in painting continued. He found acrylics to be the perfect medium for interpreting his favorite subject — landscapes. Throughout his works, it is the vivid colors and mood that have inspired him.
Mr. Oldak's paintings have been shown at the Broward County Art Guild, the New Conservatory for the Arts, the Greenwich Village Art Festival, Rosetta Stone Gallery, the Hibel Museum, and Treasure Coast Galleries. He was honored by having a retrospective show of his work at the Village Art Galleries in Florida. His art has been acquired and commissioned by private collectors in New York, Houston, Cleveland, Washington D.C., Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Jupiter, FL. Commissions are welcomed.
